“The Rucker Effect” – A Featured Story in the Chamber Exchange Newspaper

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]WORCESTER – On Thursday, October 4, the Worcester Historical Museum (WHM) will award its annual Harvey Ball Smile award to Cliff Rucker.

WHM is the only organization solely dedicated to preserving all facets of Worcester’s history and sharing that story with both current and future generations. The Harvey Ball Smile award is given out annually to an individual or organization that has made a significant positive impact on the city.

What is interesting to note is many past recipients or organizations that have received this distinguished award have usually had a long time presence in Worcester. However, Rucker only arrived on the Worcester scene in August 2015 when he was exploring the city as one of several sites where he might potentially take ownership of a professional hockey minor league team. In appropriately honoring him, the WHM has recognized what I call – “The Rucker Effect”.[/vc_column_text][vc_btn title=”Read More” style=”classic” shape=”square” color=”inverse” size=”lg” align=”left” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.worcesterchamber.org%2Fthe-rucker-effect%2F|||”][vc_separator][vc_column_text]

Person of the Year: Cliff Rucker

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Worcester Magazine’s annual Person of the Year issue highlights those in the communi-ty that have made the largest impact on the city and you’d have a hard time naming someone that has done more to change the Worcester landscape in the past 12 months than Cliff Rucker.

Rucker came onto the Worcester scene back in February 2016, a relative unknown in the city. Billed as a “North Shore businessman” in quote blocks and headlines throughout the ensuing months, the president of NFS Leasing out of Beverly would have plenty more in store for the city as the months ticked by. While the hockey team and his investments and development in the city have dramatically changed Worcester’s landscape, it is his work ethic and “do it right” attitude that makes him our 2017 Worcester Magazine Person of the Year.[/vc_column_text][vc_btn title=”Read More” style=”classic” shape=”square” color=”inverse” size=”lg” align=”left” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.worcestermag.com%2F2017%2F12%2F28%2Fcover-story-person-year-cliff-rucker|||”][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1569727814703{margin: 25px !important;}”][vc_column_text]

Kids Kicking Cancer

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Kids Kicking Cancer is a very exciting and innovative program to assist young cancer patients to become empowered, pro-active participants in their own medical treatment. Using the techniques found in the martial arts, we train our children to meditate and breathe through their chemotherapies as well as envision powerful healing thoughts. Despite the ravaging effects of childhood cancer, our young participants are guided towards the positive aspects of growth and spiritual strength that lies within the individual.

“You and yours should be very blessed. You are a wonderful friend and partner in all we do. May you and yours be blessed! I so appreciate your deep friendship and support that resonates from your soul!”
